Here goes a story that a stranger shared with me
There are things I haven't told to anyone, but I want to get them off my chest, and confessing them in front of a total stranger is a perfect opportunity to do so. To begin with, let me introduce myself a bit. I'm a guy in my early 20s. An engineering student at a college in North India. I've been a topper nearly throughout my life, in school and then in the college. Both my parents are very educated and wanted me to exceed them in studies. So, there was this pressure from my parents' side to top every class and every bloody exam.

Many people think that they had or have a very tough life indeed- with stress, depression, hopelessness, frustration and what not dragging them down. But believe me! Each individual on this planet has their own set of problems in life. I agree some people go through more than some fortunate ones. However, it all depends on how a person handles any situation. I know it is tough to take any sensible decision in the heat of the moment; yet calmness can take you a long way...

Do you know how it feels to hear your father say to tell you, "I will kill you if necessary!"? Or how it feels to be beaten up so badly by your mother that your night-suit is torn to pieces? How it feels when your parents ask you to stop painting, playing badminton and the violin because if your result is affected, they wont have anything to show-off about?... Oh, the list can go on!

Favoritism is practiced in all spheres of life, especially in schools; and our school was no exception. She was a new student who, apparently had no idea that it she would have to face it there again!(It is human nature to expect everything to be good if they change places like schools, colleges and localities)
